Elisabetta Cipriani – Wearable Art is delighted to announce that she will be exhibiting this year at Design Miami Basel from June 12-17 at Stand G17. To be showcased there will be new projects along the ones from the previous years. Ania Guillaume features a wall installation of a debut line of hand sculpted ginkgo leaf necklaces, which are as much artworks as they are wearable. Francesco Arena presents a pair of earrings casted from the artist’s thumb and little finger’s prints. The two artist’s fingers will hold the wearer’s head who will keep on bringing the artist’s hand around to experience anything the wearer lives. Liliane Lijn’s Earth Body Artworks will take you far in time and in space as each piece is essentially a reminder of our origin. The artist playfully shapes a handful of still very warm wax around her wrist and shapes it in something that looks very much like a clod of earth. Her works are in fact titled volcanic magma, meteorites, clods of earth and lunar rocks. Flavie Audi,in addition to her Superlunarycollection in collaboration with Noor Fares, is creating for her first time a 1.7-meter in diameter hand knotted silk rug. The Superlunary Fragmentfalls within the investigation of speculative synthetic future geologies and celebrates the potential and values of synthetic gems. Following the logic of the visual effects of opals and using mathematical formulas to simulate digitally these properties it is possible to go beyond authentic properties of opals. The digital representation of this geological fragment is then translated into a colour map in order to be traditionally woven by hand.
