The artist was inspired by his first visit to New York City at the age of sixteen. Captivated by the Art Deco splendour of the Chrysler Building, he was struck by the lotus flower motifs adorning its elevator doors and the eagle sculptures spreading their angular wings from the corners. Years later, a return to Manhattan reignited that fascination. This necklace translates those impressions into form — a spreading wing with gold details arranged in a rectilinear pattern, echoing the verticals and horizontals of the city’s skyline and the harmonious order of its grid.
