Giulio Paolini’s first wearable art project has been ideated around the idea of love. The ‘Due in Uno’ (‘Two in One’) ring unites two gold rings in one piece, leading to an infinite line of movement. It was first conceived by Paolini in silver, in 1967 as a present to his wife and only two exemplars were made.
‘The ring consists of a line in movement that comes to an end at the same point from which it departed. Two rings, in this case, chase each other to show form and function as two equal things, or better one single thing’ Giulio Paolini
