Opening: 23 November - 6:30 - 8:30 pm Elisabetta Cipriani is delighted to announce Pommes de Jong, the first wearable art exhibition in London of the Dutch artist Jacqueline de Jong. The Pommes de Jong is an ongoing project that came to life in 2007 in Bouan (Bourbonnais, France) where in the mid 1990’s de Jong and her husband Tom Weyland decided to buy a house. She created a vegetable garden and they planted potatoes in memory of the lack of food during the war. De Jong stored the potatoes in a 13th Century cellar and suddenly realized that she was fascinated by the huge number of sprouts that were growing from the shrunk tubers. Elisabetta Cipriani is delighted to announce its participation, for the first time, at TEFAF during this 30th edition of the Fair. For this occasion, Elisabetta Cipriani is pleased to present the new creations by Giulio Paolini, which include three pendants inspired by former installations of the artist ‘Amore e Psyche’ and ‘Sulla Soglia’. The pendants represent classical figures seen from behind, facing directly at the heart of the wearer, trying to trespass the threshold between the outer and the inner dimension. The importance of love dwells also in the ring ‘Due in Uno’ which unites two gold rings in one piece, leading to an infinite line of movement. This piece was first conceived by Paolini in silver 1967 as a present to his wife and only two exemplars were made until now. The exhibition will also include Ai Weiwei’s ‘Rebar in Gold’, a bracelet to...
Opening: 7 February 6-8pm We are delighted to invite you to discover the first wearable art project by renowned Italian artist Giulio Paolini in collaboration with Elisabetta Cipriani. Paolini’s jewellery is a manifesto of the artist’s idea of love, expressed using an elemental and timeless artistic language. He achieved to capture, in a subtle and elegant manner, the underlying intimacy and complicity within a couple. Escaping any dramatic effects, the artist materialises the silent dialogue taking place between two lovers . The ‘Due in Uno’ ( ‘Two in One’) ring for example, ‘consists of a line in movement that comes to an end at the same point it departed. Two rings, in this case, chase each other to show form and function as two equal things, or better, one single thing.’ G. Paolini Inspired by former installations of the artist ‘Amore...
Elisabetta Cipriani is delighted to announce that we will be exhibiting at Design Miami from Nov 30 - Dec 4 2016 at Stand G15. The highlight of the exhibition will be the presentation of Segments of Light, a new body of one-of-a-kind works by the renowned Italian artist Giorgio Vigna. These works focus on combining full and empty forms that manifest the primary and primordial aspects of nature. The segment is the starting point of the creation of these works; it moves, multiplies, draws paths and expands in imaginary universes that dialogue with natural forms. Distinct forms in the shape of earrings, brooches, bracelets and rings are made of 18kt yellow gold, oxidised silver, copper and diamonds. We will be also showing works by Adel Abdessemed, Jannis Kounellis, Ifeanyi...
